Let's talk about our return to France, about two and a half months ago.
After quickly crossing the Netherlands and Belgium, we crossed the French border at the end of August, which left us with a strange feeling.
Sad to realize that the journey is coming to an end, proud to have traveled these 25,000 km and to have discovered so many wonderful places in Europe, and a bit disgusted to "go back home" to our country, which we have a lot of trouble to still recognize as ours.
After going to the doctor for Koala, we invigorated and decided to enjoy the end of the trip and take the opportunity to visit the French coasts.
First step in Cucq, under the sea buckthorns next to the sand dunes.
We then went along the Picardy and Norman coasts. We took the opportunity to admire the Bay of Somme and visit the Abbey of Jumièges, one of the oldest of this size, in between of Carolingian art and Romanesque art.
In order to visit this abbey, we had to cross the loops of the Seine river, thanks to a ferry, which was 3m high (Travis measuring 3m01), we passed it! Twice!
We then visited the Mont-Saint-Michel, with the new parking, 6 times too expensive.
Small detour through Rennes to visit the brother of Cerise.
Then stroll along the Breton coast, where we found magnetic sand in Saint-Quay-Portrieux. Fresh bathing in Trégastel.
We then headed towards Brest, at the house of Koala's friends, where we were able to taste delicious buckwheat pancakes. We even drove all the way to the Pointe Saint-Mathieu.
And then we had to go down to the south, towards the parents place, driving through the famous site of Carnac with its megaliths, and the site of Locmariaquer.
After a few stops with friends on the road, we joined Poitou and Touraine, where we stayed a few weeks, took the time to reorganize the trunks, open some boxes, close others and prepare for the new start: direction Switzerland!
At the beginning of October, we left for two weeks, driving through Saint-Palais-sur-Mer, Montpon-Ménestérol, Barzun, Nailloux, Uzès and Jarnioux, before arriving in Switzerland at Farvagny, where we will stay for a while
Remember, this is where we started our journey of workawayers, making a custom bed!
During last month, Koala has been working for the winter season and Cerise is doing job interviews in software development.
Some news soon, but not immediately
See you later.
To all of you who have followed us throughout this year, many thanks!
