Having found a new land (holiday village) near Rome, we could enjoy a good night's sleep (after an hour of waiting at the reception).
The next day, to the Colosseum and the Palatine Hill! A bit crowdy, we are happy it's not summer! As the following pictures show, we were able to enjoy the sun.
Back to the road and a few days later we arrive at Venice, the Serenissima, after making a romantic stop under the Juliet's balcony in Verona.
We could enjoy the sun to get lost in the streets of Venice, which has softened the bitterness that left us our stay in Italy.
Indeed, we count many negative points during this stay.
If you think that some French people drive badly, come and visit Italy, especially in the south, where the blinker has not been invented yet, the white line seems to be painted in invisible ink, parking in double line is a must, and if you overtake using the emergency lane, you will surely blend in!
Do you remember the emails that we to workaway hosts a few days ago? We do, we thought about it every day. And then, because we received no answers (while the person said she needed help in the immediate future), we ended up abandoning the idea of finding a new host in Italy, decided to enjoy the trip, and started looking for hosts in the following countries on our route.
On the eve of leaving Italy, we received one or two more negative answers from Italian hosts, and half of those we contacted have still not answered us at the moment.
Moral: if you want to do a workaway stay, don't go to Italy. If you want to visit Rome or Pompeii, go there by plane!
We ended up finding a guest in Croatia, and besides, our next article will talk about our stay at his place.
And tomorrow we are back on the road, to Austria!
