It was with relief and under a bright sun that we left our host in Italy where things did not go exactly as planned.
On the road again
We took the road with the idea to walk a little (Pisa, Florence, ...) while looking for a new host, in Tuscany if possible (at the time, we were still believing).
We met the snow in the mountains
Winter is here
and the sand at the beach
Summer is here
Throughout the week, we sent a dozen mails to several Italian hosts, in Tuscany, and even in the neighboring regions, since we had meanwhile decided to go down to Pompeii.
While waiting for the answers, we took advantage of the time to male touristic visits, under a more or less sunny sky.
First, Pisa. The sun, not too many tourists, a pretty little town. We let you admire by yourself:
Then, let's go to Florence! Under the rain of course, on the way, and continued once there.
We did a little tour of the city and saw some nice things, as shown in the photos below:
At this point, we still had not received any responses from the workaway hosts. Add that to the rain, our morale was skyrocketing.
Let's go to Rome, anyway, with the hope of receiving answers soon.
Arrived on the spot, on the area where we had to park for the night, a bad feeling, added to the noise of the adjacent boulevards made us turn back and so we continued to drive all the way to Pompeii.
Late arrival on a small area that was not much to look at, but whose greeting managers greatly cheered us up, and that was needed after the previous days with a more than low morale.
We were able to enjoy a welcome drink, as well as a hot shower.
The next day, under clouds of course, the manager of the motorhome area dropped us in the city center in front of the ruins of Pompeii. We could take a few shots, between two rain showers.
It is therefore in our lower latitudes that we met other French people, who also travel in their van (Trafic, the little brother of Travis). We had a little chat with them over a meal and a few beers.
The next day, it was under the sun that we took the road back to the north, this time.
Will a different path have a positive effect on our morale?
