Visiting Denmark

03/09/2018 | Fun | Koala & Cerise | Denmark.

Dear readers,

Back to our homeland, it's time for us to catch up on the story of our adventures on European roads.
After Sweden, we reached Denmark crossing the famous Öresund bridge. We started by visiting the capital Copenhagen as soon the bridge crossed. We found a parking space in the city center, which is unusual for our dear Travis. We loved this city, we visited churches and its iconic city hall, which we found splendid.
We could also see its multicolored houses along the canal. We left after saying hello to the little mermaid, near the castle.
Unfortunately we missed the famous neighborhood Christiana: Copenhagen, we will see you again.

Copenhagen

Before leaving the island of Sjaelland, we visited the remains of the Viking Fortress of Trelleborg, with a visit to the museum.
After crossing the 2nd largest bridge in Denmark, here we were on the island of Fyn, where we spent the night at the seaside with a beautiful sunset, and a huge red moon the day before its eclipse.
On Friday, drive to Århus in the northern part of the island of Jylland for the Viking festival in Moesgård. On the beach, we were able to attend the second and confusing part of the lunar eclipse until 1:30 in the morning.
The next day, we wandered in the viking market dressed in our viking clothes (which let us enter for free, but hush!) with a very welcomed dip in the see at the end of the day.

We then took the road to Billund with its legendary theme park Legoland, Denmark being the country who created the famous plastic bricks that Koala loves.
On the road, we visited the beautiful free museum of Jelling which traces the history of King Harald Blåtand (Bluetooth). We learned that the creator of Bluetooth was inspired by him for the logo of the famous short-range wireless network.
Then we went on the road towards Wolin in Poland, but that's another story.
